In a world of constant motion, endless demands, and inner noise, we often wonder: Is lasting peace even possible right here, right now? This may feel very “extra” right now amid the current geo-political landscape with conflict in both Ukraine and the Middle East. It’s a lot—I know.
The whole world longs for peace, though I’m not sure everyone is willing to surrender to it. There seems to be a desire for the result of peace, a unity and harmony where people get along, but what’s missing is the genuine love that lives from justice. Because even the word justice is messed up by our human systems and ideologies.
Peace that passes all understanding is rooted in alignment with God. We cannot escape the interpersonal conflicts or the geo-political issues that impact life, but we can cultivate peace in the soul as we live from the presence of God, and then carry it into the places that need it.
